- Approximately half of Leeds and Grenville residents are aged 20 to 64 with the median age being 43.6.
- Educated population between 25-64: Leeds Grenville has a higher number of apprenticeship/trades certificates or diplomas and a higher number of college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma holders than the province as a whole.
- There are a lower percentage of individuals with university certification, diploma or degrees.
- The number of people gaining university degrees in the 25-64 age groups has risen by 1.3 per cent when compared with the number of university graduates aged 65 and up. This figure has nearly doubled in the province from 14.8 per cent of the population aged 65 and up who graduated from university to 30.7 per cent in the 25-64 age groups. In Leeds Grenville 16.7 per cent in this age group have a university degree.
- Within the population aged 25-64 with post-secondary qualifications, architecture and engineering backgrounds dominate the field of study followed by business and public administration and thirdly health, parks, recreation and fitness.
Employer Survey
The Eastern Workforce Innovation Board completed an EmployerOne survey in 2020 within Leeds Grenville, Frontenac County and Loyalist Township (included in Frontenac tabulations). In total, 111 companies employing 4,646 people completed the survey. The goal is to understand employers' needs and perspectives on labour market demand and supply in the region.
