Curated Experiential Tourism WorkshopsOffered by RTO9 in partnership by the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO) and the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC). The Elevating Canadian Experiences (ECE) workshops been designed with a very personalized approach to assisting select small and medium tourism operators and other tourism organizations in developing strategies to maintain their businesses and develop experiential products to attract visitors as we plan for the future. With just 12 individuals per workshop, you will have the opportunity to engage with the workshop facilitators, ask questions that are specific to you and your business and start putting the necessary steps together to get your experience off the ground. Each business will also be contacted for a 60-minute one-on-one coaching session with BC Hughes Inc. and the Tourism Company.

The Importance of Tourism Research10:00 am - 11:00 Cost: Free Join RTO9. Oliver Martin of Twenty31 and Fran Hohol of CBRE as they discuss the importance of tourism research, how to use research and how important it is for current and future decision making. Oliver is a destination development strategist with over 18 years of experience in quantitative research. He has worked with 50+ tourism management organizations to develop sustainable growth plans and to measure impact. Fran is Senior Director at CBRE Limited with over 35 years of consulting experience in the hospitality and tourism sector. Fran is also responsible for CBRE Hotels’ extensive national database on the accommodation sector, including the collection of monthly data on the performance of Canada’s hotel sector (Occupancy, Average Daily Rate and RevPar). This data is reported to RTO 9, along with a National Trends Report for a market comparison to the rest of Canada. |

Online Business Plan and Cash Flow BootcampThe online business plan bootcamp is a guided approach to completing a business plan and takes approximately 10 hours to complete, in total. The Leeds Grenville Small Business Enterprise Centre will provide you with access to this online tool that will guide you to create your very own business plan and 2 year cash flow. Included with the online tool is one hour of consulting from Karen McDonald-Hurley of Opportunity Group and support from the LGSBEC team. This product has a $1100.00 value and is free if business plan is completed by agreed upon time frame. |
