Warden's Message
I am honoured to assume the role of Warden of the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. In my 15 years at Counties’ Council I have been blessed to sit with many great leaders and staff, each bringing a unique style and high level of expertise to the Council Chambers. While I am proud to serve as Warden, I am also cognizant of the need to work together during these challenging times.
COVID-19 has impacted everyone and shone a light on areas of our society that need attention. While COVID-19 has hit everyone hard, in the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, the mandate of services the Counties provides to its people, such as health care, emergency care, good roads and community and social program have not changed and must be continued.
The Counties is embarking on several major projects in the next few years, including the Maple View Lodge Redevelopment and the four-laning of County Road 43; along with striving to improve affordable housing and land ambulance response times. Counties Council must work together to ensure the success of these projects, and to remain accountable to the residents of Leeds and Grenville while doing so.
I am proud to serve as Warden, but the Warden is only as effective as the people around him. We have a good team at the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, and I will be calling on Council and staff for their guidance as we move forward together.
Warden Roger Haley
