Regional Economic Development through Immigration (REDI)

The Regional Economic Development through Immigration (REDI) pilot program is part of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) and supports Leeds Grenville Economic Development focus on workforce development and talent attraction.

For 2025, 200 nomination spaces from the OINP’s Employer Job Offer streams are allocated to Leeds Grenville.  These nominations are for applicants with job offers within the Leeds Grenville geographic boundaries.  Also see Counties Map. Any inquiries from both existing and potential applicants must be submitted via the OINP’s webform.  You may also review answers to frequently asked questions.

New OINP Employer Portal now available
As of July 2nd, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has launched a new electronic Employer Portal, this shifts all REDI applications to an employer-led application process. Read the Employer Portal user guide to learn more and visit the OINP Employer Portal to register and manage applications.

The REDI program provides a pathway for Leeds Grenville through following Employer Job Offer Streams, there are no additional criteria or a separate application process for the pilot.

Foreign Worker stream 

The job offer must be in a skilled occupation at TEER category 0, 1, 2 or 3 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC). The applicant must show that they are qualified for the position by demonstrating they have work experience in the same occupation as the job offer or are licensed or authorized to do the work where the occupation of the job offer is regulated in Ontario.

International Student stream

The job offer must be in a skilled occupation at TEER category 0, 1, 2 or 3 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC). The applicant must have a degree, diploma or certificate from an eligible Canadian institution that has been completed within two years of submitting their application.

In-Demand Skills stream

The job offer must be in an eligible occupation at TEER category 4 or 5 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC). The applicant must have work experience in Ontario in the same occupation as the job offer and have the equivalent of a Canadian high school diploma and language skills in English and/or French.

Employers

If you are seeking immigrant talent, please ensure your job posting is listed the one of the below Employment Agencies. As part of the OINP program, employers must meet a minimum 3 full-time employees and additional requirements - as outlined on the Ministry webpage.

Effective July 2, 2025, all applications for the approval of an employment position under the REDI pilot must be submitted through the Employer Portal. Under this new employer-led process, employers can create job offers and submit applications for the approval of a job offer digitally. The Employer Portal can be accessed via the OINP e-Filing Portal.

If your position is full-time and permanent, you may be eligible under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). Review the website to see which stream of the OINP you will be eligible for. If you have any further questions regarding OINP, you can fill out their webform, where your question will be sent to their inquiry team.
